Jakarta, MINA — Malaysia will continue to strengthen further the good defence relations with Indonesia in the interest of both nations, Bernama reported, citing Defence Minister, Mohamad Sabu.

“The participation of Malaysia in the ‘Indo Defence 2018’ exhibition for example proved the commitment of Malaysia to boost the existing relations.

“It is also hoped Malaysia’s participation will attract the participation of defence companies to join Lima’19 (2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition),” he said.

Mohamad was speaking at the launch of the Malaysian Pavilion in conjunction with Indo Defence 2018 at Jakarta International Expo at Kemayoran here.

This is the fourth time Malaysia is participating in the biennial event after making a debut in 2012.

Meanwhile EN Projects (M) Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor said their participation in the exhibition was to promote LIMA’19 which would be held from March 26 to 30 2019.

“So far almost 90 per cent of the 325 group of defence companies had confirmed their participation.

“Four aerobatic teams from Russia, South Korea, China and Indonesia have also confirmed coming,” he said.
