Jeddah, MINA – Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement promising Israel’s annexation of the West Bank if he wins in 17 September elections.
In a telephone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, King Salman said Netanyahu’s statement was a very dangerous move for Palestinian people, and a violation of UN resolutions and international norms.
Abbas expressed his appreciation for the attention and importance of King Salman in Palestinian struggle.
Abbas also praised the Saudi call for an emergency meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at Foreign Ministry level to discuss and respond to Netanyahu’s statement.
