Cairo, 14 Dhulqo’dah 1436/29 August 2015 (MINA) – An Egyptian judicial committe has recommended continuing the ban on the Muslim Brotherhood that was supported by a decision from the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

A judicial source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Anadolu new agency yesterday that “the Board of State Commissioners made a recommendation in its report presented to the Administrative Judicial Court to reject the complaint lodged by Brotherhood legal representative.

Osman Anani, in which the Brotherhood requests the cancellation of the order issued by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Social Solidarity which stipulates the dissolution or elimination of the Muslim Brotherhood. This is order 644 for the year of 2013 according to the Ministry of Social Solidarity records,” Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Saturday (29/8).

The report accused that “the Muslim Brotherhood organisation uses its headquarters located in Maqtam (eastern Cairo) as a headquarters for a banned organisation that carries out banned activities and poses a threat to the national security.”

It also added that “the decision made by the Ministry of Social Solidarity is based on security reports stating that the group harbours elements that pose a threat to national security and that the organisation’s funds have been confiscated and dealt with in accordance with a decision issued by the Committee to manage Brotherhood funds, which was formed based on a decision made by the Cabinet.

In accordance with the judicial ruling issued by the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters. This ruling stipulated the seizure of the Muslim Brotherhood headquarters and the dissolution of its civil society organisations.” (T/P002/R04)
