Israeli Police Detain Several Palestinians Protesting Detention of Jerusalem Governor

Jerusalem, MINA — Israeli police Tuesday detained a number of Palestinians after physically assaulting them during a peaceful protest held at Salah Eddin street, in occupied Jerusalem, against Israel’s detention of the governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, and 30 other Fatah officials, WAFA reported.

Dozens of Palestinians staged a rally against Israel’s detention of the governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, and 30 other Fatah officials, who were detained by Israeli forces on Sunday.

Ghaith was detained on Sunday during a predawn Israeli military raid on his home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan. No reasons were given for the arrest.

At least 30 Fatah officials were detained overnight Sunday during a large-scale detention campaign across the Jerusalem area.
