Israeli Navy Opens Fire at Palestinian Fishermen off Gaza

Israeli navy gunboats open fire at fishermen in Gaza sea.

Gaza, 17 Rabiul Akhir 1438/16 January 2017 (MINA) – Israeli navy opened fire on Monday at Palestinian fishing boats sailing offshore the Gaza Strip, according to dean of the Palestinian fishermen Nezar Ayyash.

WAFA quoted Ayyash as saying that Israeli navy attacked several Palestinian fishing boats while sailing at around four nautical miles from Gaza’s shore.

The navy chased the boats and opened fire at them, causing damages to at least one boat.

There were no reports of causalities, however, he added.

Meanwhile, Israeli navy targets Palestinian fishermen from Gaza on daily basis, which makes it difficult for them to go fishing in order to make a living.
