Israeli Navy Attacks Ship Carrying Wounded after Leaving Gaza Shore
Gaza,MINA -– Israeli navy ships attacked on Tuesday a fishing boat carrying seven wounded Gazans seeking treatment abroad shortly after leaving the Gaza shore heading toward Cyprus, according to WAFA correspondent.
The seven wounded were hoping to reach hospitals outside Gaza after their efforts to get an official Israeli army permit to leave Gaza to the West Bank or East Jerusalem for medical treatment have failed.
The Israeli navy opened their water hoses at the fishing boat and then took it over before towing it to Asdod seaport in southern Israel and detaining its nine passengers – the seven wounded and the captain and his assistant.
A similar ship carrying wounded was also attacked and impounded on May 29 and its passenger detained. (T/RS5/RS1)
