Ramallah, 15 Sha’ban 1435/13 June 2014 (MINA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah called upon on Thursday the international community to exert serious and considerable pressure on Israel to release the administrative prisoners who have been on hunger strike for fifty consecutive days.
Hamdallah also stressed the need to take the necessary steps to oblige Israel to stop expansion of colonial settlement on the Palestinian land, WAFA, Palestinian News & Info Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
Hamdallah stated,“The U.S. government, many European and Arab countries and the United Nations along with the Quartet (Egypt, Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia) have expressed their full support for the new national consensus government, while Israel continues to use it as a pretext not to reach a real breakthrough in the peace process.”
Hamdallah made these statements during a meeting with Swedish Consul General Axel Wernhoff on the occasion of the end of his official duties at the Prime Minister’s Office in Ramallah.
Hamdallah thanked Wernhoff for his country’s ongoing support for Palestine through developmental projects.
Wernhoff congratulated the Prime Minister on the formation of the consensus government, stressing his country’s support for the new government, pointing out that the United Nation’s support for the Palestinians is considered a powerful tool,
