Indonesia to Build 10 Tower Apartments for Asian Games Athletes

Jakarta, 08 Jumadil Akhir 1437/18 March 2016 (MINA – Indonesia will build 10 tower apartments worth Rp3.5 trillion in Kemayoran, Jakarta, for the athletes participating in the 18th Asian Games.

“The Wisma Atlet will be built to support the 18th Asian Games scheduled for 2018,” the Director General of Housing Supply at the Ministry of Public Works, Syarif
Burhanuddin, said in reply to a newsmans question about signing the contract for the project here on Thursday.

The Head of the Strategic Apartment Supply Working Unit, Erizal, said three of the 10 towers in Wisma Atlet in Block C would have 1,930 housing units, while the remaining seven in Block D would have 5,494 units.

The number of floors would vary from one tower to another ranging from 18 to 32 floors, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) reported, quoting Antara News.

“Construction is expected to take 510 days, starting on March 17 until August 8, 2017,” he said.

Syarif said he believed the contractors would be able to finish the project within 510 days.

Each unit will accommodate three persons so that a total of 22,272 persons can be housed at Wisma Atlet. (R07/R01)
