Haneyya Visits Palestinian Embassy In Qatar

Doha, 19 Muharram 1438/20 October 2016 (MINA) – A delegation of the Hamas Movement, headed by deputy head of its political bureau Ismail Haneyya, visited Wednesday the Palestinian embassy in the Qatari capital Doha.

The delegation included the two leaders Nizar Awadallah and Saleh Aruri, the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported.

The delegation was received by the ambassador Munir al-Agha.

During the meeting, Haneyya stressed the importance of Palestinian national unity and reconciliation.

Ismail Abdel Salam Ahmed Haneyya born 29 January 1963) is a senior political leader of Hamas and formerly one of two disputed Prime Ministers of the Palestinian National Authority. Haniyeh became prime minister after Hamas won the Palestinian legislative elections of 2006.

Haneyya was nominated as prime minister on 16 February 2006 following the Hamas “List of Change and Reform” victory 25 January 2006. He was formally presented to Mahmoud Abbas on 20 February and was sworn in on 29 March 2006.(T/P008/R03)
