EREKAT : PLO TO REVIEW RELATIONS WITH ISRAEL BY END OF MONTH
Ramallah, 13 Rabi’ul Akhir 1436/3 February 2015 (MINA) – A member of the PLO Executive Committee, Saeb Erekat, said on Sunday that the organisation’s Central Council will hold a meeting later this month to review its relations with Israel.
Erekat told the Voice of Palestine radio station that: “If Israel continues to deal with us by building more settlements, dictating its own conditions, stealing the Palestinian people’s money and imposing a siege on them, we will withhold all relations with it, including security coordination as well as economic and political files.”
“The Palestinian Authority was created to transfer the Palestinian people from occupation to independence. The current situation cannot continue with us having no power while the Israeli occupation does not pay a price” he added, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting. Tuesday.
The chief negotiator pointed out that a supreme national committee, which includes political factions and national figures as well as representatives of civil society organisations and the PLO, is currently working “to prepare two files on the settlement and the latest Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip to be submitted to the International Criminal Court.”
Erekat stressed that the Palestinians will not change their decision to join the International Criminal Court. “All forces on earth cannot turn the clock backward,” he said. (T/P002/P3)
