THIRD ECONOMIC PACKAGE TO RAISE DOMESTIC INDUSTRY

Jakarta, 27 Dhulhijjah 1436/11 October 2015 (MINA) – Former Trade Minister Rahmat Gobel said the third economic policy package which was launched by President Joko Widodo is believed to be a stimulus for the rise of the domestic industry.

“I am very optimistic, right now is the momentum for domestic industry to rise up Nowadays, Indonesian economy is experiencing a severe test as a result of external and internal developments, ” Rachmat said in Jakarta, Sunday.

The weakening of rupiah against the US dollar, the rising prices of goods, as well as the declining competitiveness of export products are major challenge that must be faced by Jokowi-JK administration.

“However, all the obstacles, we must face them with enthusiasm and optimism to rise up and be able to work better and better,” said Rachmat. Ekonomi.inilah quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Indonesian government issued the third package of economic policy with emphasis on real economy sectors.

“The government issued an additional policy, that is costs reducing,” said Coordinating Minister for economic affairs Darmin Nasution at a press conference at the Presidential Office on Wednesday afternoon.

Nasution added, There are two main points that will be conveyed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning.

According to Nasution, the Policy of energy covering the fields of fuel oil, gas and electricity tariffs for industry.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Sudirman Said stated, the  fuel price of Avtur, LPG, Pertamax and Pertalite would go down effectively on October 1, 2015.

The price of diesel fuel declined as much as Rp 200 per liter. So, the retail price now becomes Rp 6.700 per liter. Premium prices still remains Rp 7.400 per liter for Java, Madura and Bali, as well as Rp 7.300 in outside of the three islands.

While the price of gas for industries such as petrochemical, and ceramics will be reduced in accordance with the ability of their respective industries.

The decline in gas prices for industry will be effective on January 1, 2016.

The government has simplified the process of licensing, extension and simplification of licensing procedures for investors who wish to apply for a permit. (L/P008/R03)
