West Bank, 22 Rabi’ul Awwal 1436/13 January 2015 (MINA) – The Palestinian Authority’s security forces in the West Bank arrested on Monday two citizens in al-Khalil city and issued detention renewal orders against another three for pending investigation.

In al-Khalil, the Palestinian Intelligence Services arrested two university students and renewed the detention of another two for two more days, The Palestinian Information Center quoted by Miraj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Meanwhile, the family of Zeid al-Jenaidi, who is detained at the PA Preventive Security Forces, said his heath is worsening because of the continuation of his hunger strike especially in the current extreme cold.

In a similar context, the PA national security released Samer al-Shawa after being held captive for days. He was taken to hospital on his release in the company of intelligence agents. “He could hardly walk”, local witnesses said.

The Islamic Bloc at al-Quds University declared an end to the peaceful sit-in, which lasted for 37 days, after signing a document of demands with the PA intelligence apparatus. It included ending the political detention at the university and the immediate release of students detained on political grounds. (T/P007/P3)
