Al-Quds, 20 Muharram 1437/2 November 2015 (MINA) – Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani said that the Islamic Waqf Authority has stopped the surveillance cameras project in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Sheikh Kiswani stated that the overall objective of the proposed project was to document the Israeli violations in the Mosque; however, it was suspended due to the Israeli attempt to take control over it, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
The Islamic Waqf Authority figured out that Israel seeks to take control over the project to serve its schemes, he said.
The project, he continued, mainly aims at ending Israeli violations and attacks in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The surveillance cameras will only be installed under the supervision of Waqf Authority, Sheikh Kiswani stressed.
“Israel doesn’t want the world to see its violations especially that the surveillance cameras will be connected to an online channel.”
Sheikh Kiswani pointed out that 1,164 Israeli settlers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque over the past month.
He concluded by saying that Israel continues its schemes to impose status quo at the Mosque where Muslim worshipers’ entry is still restricted while the settlers’ break-ins are allowed access without any restrictions.(T/P008/R03)
