Al Quds, 5 Ramadan 1436/22 June 2015 (MINA) – The administration of Dimona nuclear reactor in the Negev conducted several experiments on the radioactive bombs in dessert of Negev. Also within the closed reactor constructors, in an attempt to examine the effects of such bombs, “Haaretz” Israeli newspaper unveiled.

The newspaper reported that the goal of these experiments, which began in 2010 and ended last year, was to study the effects of similar bombs on the environment. The radioactive bombs used on the projects weighed between half kg to 25 kg ; the project was called the “green field”.

These experiences proved the presence of radiations at high rates, in addition to a few amounts of radiations distributed across the surrounding area, Al-Ray Palestinian News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Israeli occupation has always used internationally-banned weapons with no action taken by the so-called free. Cancer rate has sharply increased in the Gaza Strip in wake of the three Israeli wars against the coastal enclave, Palestinian ministry of health revealed on Thursday.

Officials of Al Shifa hospital stressed that the increasing number of cancer cases is due to the pollution caused by the use of internationally-prohibited weapons by the Israeli occupation.

In its previous offensives against Gaza, the Israeli occupation fired shells containing white phosphorus, which caused horrific burns when it comes into contact with skin. Under international law, phosphorus is allowed as a smokescreen to protect soldiers but treated as a chemical weapon when used against civilians.(T/R05/R03)
