Ramallah, 13 Jumadal Akhir 1436/2 April 2015 (MINA) –  The Palestinian prisoner Thaer Halahleh (35), suffered a sharp decline in his health condition as he already suffers from various health problems, a human rights group said Wednesday (1/4).

Halahleh, from al-Khalil to the south of the West Bank, suffers from hepatitis B, severe back pains, and poor performing immune system. His heath status has witnessed sharp deterioration more than once since his detention on August 19, 2014, Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies warned of the Israeli Prison Services’ deliberate medical negligence in dealing with Halahleh’s medical file as he only takes painkillers.

Halahleh was arrested on seven past occasions during which he spent nine years in Israeli jails. He declared hunger strike for 78 days in protest against Israeli administrative detention policy according to which he was held without charge or trial. (T/P006/P3)
