Berlin, 11 Jumadil Akhir 1436/31 March 2015 (MINA) – The majority of Germans believe that their country should recognize an independent Palestinian state, a poll published on Wednesday showed.
The opinion poll revealed that 71 percent of Germans favored the move, while over 15 percent of those surveyed opposed the motion, IINA NEWS quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
According to the poll conducted by the German Forsa Institute, commissioned by Stern magazine to measure public opinion indicators, 14 percent of those surveyed did not express their position on this matter.
It is noteworthy that 135 countries recognized Palestine as an independent state so far, while parliaments in many countries, including France, Britain and Spain voted in favor of a non-binding motion to recognize a Palestinian state.

Most Western countries that favored the two-state solution, particularly the United States and Germany, do not support unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state.(T/Ro5/R03)
