Muslim Council of Elders Calls for Greater Efforts to Eradicate Hatred, Intolerance
Cairo MINA – Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, highlighted the importance of spreading the culture of tolerance and peace, intensifying efforts to eradicate hatred, intolerance and terrorism, and rejecting violence and extremism.
In his message to the entire world on the International Day for Tolerance on 16th November, Dr. Al-Tayeb said that the Muslim Council of Elders has stressed that co-existence, tolerance, peace and the acceptance of others are fundamental values called for by all religions, traditions, cultures and international conventions.
According KUNA, he also affirmed the Council’s support for all sincere efforts that aim to promote peace and co-existence.
The Council is determined to continue its efforts to spread the culture of tolerance, co-existence and peace, which are at the forefront of Dr. Al-Tayeb’s tours and initiatives regarding the dialogue between the East and West, as well as his peace convoys, in co-operation with Al Azhar Al Sharif, to various continents, which aim to highlight the importance of citizenship, co-existence, positive integration and the values of tolerance.
