Jakarta, MINA – The 3rd President of Republic of Indonesia (RI) Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie or BJ Habibie on Wednesday, September at 06:05 p.m local time passed away at the age of 83 years, at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Hospital, Jakarta.

The man was born in Parepare, South Sulawesi, June 25, 1936 has suffered heart disease.

“My father B.J Habibie passed away at 06.05 p.m on Wednesday, September 11, 2019,” said Habibie’s son, Thareq Kemal Habibie at the RSPAD Gatoto Soebroto Hospital.

Kemal said that the team of doctors had tried their best to save his father. But the disease can not be cured.

“The team of doctors has given their best. Because it’s age and heart failure, “he said.

Previously, Head of the Presidential Medical Team (TDK) Prof. Dr. Azis Rani in his official statement mentioned that Habibie entered the RSPAD since September 1, 2019. His condition had improved on Tuesday.

It is planned that the former Minister of Research and Technology will be buried in the Kalibata TMP, next to the tomb of Mrs. Ainun Habibie. This tomb has been prepared by Habibie since Ms. Ainun passed away in 2010. (T/Sj/P2)
