Gaza, 22 Dzulqa’dah 1435/17 September 2014 (MINA) – The Governmental Committee for Breaking the Siege and Receiving Delegations confirmed on Tuesday that solidarity delegations were denied entry to the besieged enclave.
The head of the committee, Mr. Alaa al-Batta stated that only 14 solidarity delegations, including 104 activists from various nationalities, visited Gaza during the last Israeli aggression on Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
Batta pointed out that the number of delegations was greatly declined, compared to the years of 2012, 2009 and 2008, Alray quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
More than 60 delegations visited Gaza in 2012, including 1600 activists, Batta explained.

He accused the Egyptian authorities for preventing dozens of solidarity delegations, particularly the one that included 500 activists from Egypt.
Batta appealed the international bodies to organize campaigns and delegations toward the besieged Gaza to help Gaza break its siege, calling on the Egyptian side to ease restrictions imposed on the Rafah Crossing. (T/P008/R03/P3)
