Al-Khalil, 22 Rabiul Awal 1437/4 January 2016 (MINA) – An Israeli male soldier on Sunday evening was injured by Palestinian sniper fire in Sadat al-Fahs area in al-Khalil city only a few hours after a similar attack on a female officer.
Local sources said the Israeli occupation army dispatched a large number of Israeli troops to the area of the attack and launched a manhunt for the shooter.
Israeli newspapers claimed the soldier sustained light wounds and evacuated to hospital. The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
In an earlier incident, a female soldiers was seriously wounded during a similar sniper attack near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil.
The attacks are believed to have been carried out by resistance fighters in retaliation to the persistent Israeli crimes committed by soldiers and settlers against the Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank. (T/P011/R07)
