ISRAEL HITS MORE THAN 780 TARGETS IN GAZA STRIP

Gaza, 13 Ramadan 1435/11 July 2014 (MINA) –   The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF)  has launched over 780 strikes in the Strip since its “Operation Protective Edge” began last Tuesday, with Gaza fired more than 250 rockets in retaliation, Israeli media reported.

Long-range rockets were fired at Tel Aviv on Thursday morning, with at least one interception confirmed by  Israel, Haaretz reported as quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

Israel claimed from the entire rockets,  about 60 of them was successfully  intercepted by US-made Israeli Iron Dome.

On Wednesday, long-range rockets were launched at Tel Aviv, occupied Jerusalem, and also as far north as the Haifa region. Since Tuesday, Iron Dome interceptor missiles have shot down over 60 rockets aimed at Israeli cities and towns, with a near-90 percent success rate, the media claimed.

Starting from the early hours of last Tuesday Israel has began a massive airstrikes into the blockaded Gaza since 2007. This time they blew up the Palestinian houses and the victims continue to fall, including civilian children and women.

In an effort to intercept the strikes, Al-Qassam Brigades fighters launched counterattack by firing their  new rockets R 160.

R 160 is the latest version of Al-Qassam rockets. Initial R refers to the rocket champions in Gaza Abdul Aziz Rantisi, one of the Hamas  leaders who was shot by Israeli  occupation forces in March 2004.

“While the number 160 is a rocket mileage,” said Hamas in its release.

Meanwhile, at least four rockets M 75 belongs to Al-Qassam also reached several towns of Israeli settlers. Takbir of worshipers echoing from Al-Aqsa mosque celebrating the success of rockets fired from Gaza.

Since the beginning of Ramadan Israeli occupation has been attacking Gaza using F-16 fighter aircrafts, drones and apaches.

Israel Occupation Forces since last three weeks continuously bombarded the empty areas in Gaza Strip.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, so far more than 70 people had died  while more than 500 others were wounded in the latest Israeli air strikes that was started since early Tuesday.(T/P03/E01)
