Jakarta, 25 Muharram 1438/26 October 2016 (MINA) – Delegates from 190 countries will meet in Bali of Indonesia from November 7 to 10 to discuss issues of terrorism and other transnational crimes, Indonesian police spokesman disclosed Wednesday.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo is scheduled to open the 85th general assembly of International police (Interpol) in Nusa Dua of the Bali resort island, Xinhua quoted Boy Rafly Amar national police spokesman as saying.
“The meeting will discuss the issues of terrorism, emerging and organized crimes as well as cyber crimes,” Rafly said at the police headquarters.
Indonesian National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian will be the keynote speaker at the meeting, which has theme of “Setting Global Roadmap for International Policy,” said Rafly.
A total of 154 out of 190 Interpol member countries have confirmed their participation in the event, according to the police.
The Interpol is the world’s biggest international police organization.
The meeting will be held amid the threat of IS global terrorist group to the international community as the armed group has ordered its militants from various nations to launch strikes in their own countries following the offensive move against the IS headquarters.
The terrorists have taken benefit from cyber devices which have facilitated and assisted them to launch their terror mission. (T/R07/R01)
