Indonesia Reach 1.3 Million Vaccinations per Day
Jakarta, MINA – The Indonesian government claims that i succeeded in achieving the target of 1.31 million vaccinations per day on Saturday, earlier than the target set by the President, starting in July.
As quoted from the website of the Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, the vaccination target was achieved thanks to the optimal efforts and mutual cooperation of the Ministry of Health with all parties, especially the Army-Police, regional governments, as well as SOEs and private parties who helped.
“A glimmer of good news, Indonesia succeeded in carrying out 1.3 million vaccinations per day which was achieved yesterday [Saturday]. Thank you to the Army-Police, local governments, SOEs and the private sector who helped,” said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Sunday.
The Minister of Health said that the government will continue to make efforts to ensure the availability of vaccines needed to accelerate vaccination.
“Vaccination is one of the important efforts in reducing the rate of the spread of the virus, thereby reducing the spike in cases and bringing us out of the pandemic. One of the government’s strategies is to seek the availability of vaccines and accelerate the vaccination program so that more people are protected,” he said.
As of June 26, the first dose of vaccination has been administered to more than 27 million people and the second dose of vaccination to more than 13 million people. The Ministry of Health continues to accelerate the implementation of vaccinations for the community.
In addition to opening mass vaccinations in collaboration with all elements of society, the Ministry of Health has also issued a circular instructing all vaccination service posts, Technical Implementation Units under the Ministry of Health, such as the Port Health Office (KKP), vertical hospitals, and health polytechnics throughout Indonesia to vaccinate all targets regardless of domicile or place of residence on the Identity Card (KTP).
The government also continues to strive for the availability of vaccines through multilateral and bilateral schemes in order to meet the current stock and keep the vaccination rate high at one million doses per day.
“So, I invite all Indonesian people to take advantage of this opportunity as well as possible because only by vaccinating and implementing strict health protocols can we get out of the pandemic,” said the Minister of Health. (T/RE1)
