Gaza, 17 Jumadil Awwal 1436/8 March 2015 (MINA) – Energy and natural resources authority in Gaza declared on Wednesday that the Gaza Strip’s sole power station stopped generating electricity due to the run out of Qatari fuel and heavy Israeli taxes.

The authority said in an official statement, ” the main problem that shut down the power plant is the high cost of the fuel, which is up to 137% of the original price because of the heavy imposed taxes “, Alray quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The authority assured that they are willing to buy fuel only if the taxes were cancelled, to spare the enclave from a catastrophic humanitarian situation in all life sides due to power cut”.

They appealed all the official and international bodies to stand by the people of Gaza, and to solve the power plant inability to provide the Gaza electricity loads, meanwhile the West Bank power plant does not suffer any shortage.
