US Runs The Largest Number of Social Organizations in Indonesia

Jakarta, MINA – Director of Social Culture and International Organization of Developing Countries Ade Triana has said that the United States has the largest number of Social Organizations in Indonesia.

This was stated by Ade at the Socialization of Government Regulations and Directory of Foreign Organization 2017, in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/9).

“The number of foreign social organizations in Indonesia mostly come from the US with 31 organizations, 11 from the UK, followed by Germany and the Netherlands each having 9, he said.

He said that so far the number registered at the Directory of foreign mass organizations were 83 foreign organizations from 13 Implementing Agency, with the status of 52 organizations having an active MSP, 11 in the process of extension and 20 under registration.

“The main activities of foreign social organizations are in the areas of economic empowerment, health, education, social welfare, employment, nature conservation and disaster management,” said Ade.

Ade explained, in this case the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the coordinator of the establishment permit will conduct monitoring and evaluation of foreign organizations in Indonesia.

The Socialization of Government Regulations on Foreign Organizations organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) was opened by the Secretary General of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry Mayerfas and attended by representatives of foreign organizations in Indonesia. (L/ R04/RS5)
