An Indonesian Minister Stabbed by Unknown Person

Pandeglang, Banten, MINA – Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Wiranto was attacked in Pandeglang, Banten by a man carrying knife on Thursday, October 10. The police who was near Wiranto also injured.

The Head of Public Information Bureau of Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo said that the perpetrators had now been arrested. The perpetrators are a woman and a man.

“Stabbing attempt. Yes, the perpetrator has been arrested. The police chief was at the scene of crime. At the moment, it is being examined, “said Dedi Prasetyo on Thursday.

A resident who witnessing the incident, Madrain (27) said the incident occurred around 00.00 p.m local time, Wiranto just got out of the car to take a helicopter back to Jakarta.

“The group stopped, several people took part in guarding Wiranto when he got out of the car, suddenly there was an unknown person stabbing Wiranto, then there was another veiled woman who tried to stab,” Madrain told reporters at Menes Square on Thursday, as reported by Warung Journalist.

The stabbing incident took place in the Menes Square, Pandeglang Regency, after Wiranto attended an event at Mathla’ul Anwar University.

After being stabbed, Wiranto immediately collapsed. According to Madrain, Wiranto was stabbed in his abdomen using a knife. Wiranto was reportedly taken directly to Berkah District Hospital using a helicopter.

Meanwhile, Pandeglang Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Indra Lustrianto Amstono could not provide an explanation at this time. (T/Sj/P2)
