Poll Finds 66% of Israelis Believe Netanyahu Should Resign
Occupied Jerusalem, MINA – The majority of the Israeli public believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should resign if indicted for corruption, according to a poll published on Sunday by Israel’s Channel 10.
Of the respondents to the survey, 66 percent said they believed he should resign, 21 percent believe that he wouldn’t need to and 13 percent said they didn’t know.
When asked who would be a better leader for the right-wing instead of Netanyahu, 23 percent said Gideon Sa’ar, 11 percent said Naftali Bennett. Avigdor Lieberman took 9 percent; Gilad Erdan was supported by 6 percent of respondents and 5 percent said Ayelet Shaked. Twenty-three percent said none of the options would be a suitable leader for Likud, and 20 percent said they didn’t know.
The poll was conducted on August 6, 2017 under the supervision of Professor Kamil Fuchs and questioned 751 individuals – 600 Jews and 151 participants were from the Arab sector. The margin of error was 3.6 percent.(T/R04/RS5)
