Washington, 05 Safar 1438/05 November 2016 (MINA) – US voters backed Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump on three out of five key issues while both are viewed as being “dishonest” in two polls released on Friday, four days ahead of election day, KUNA reported.

Support for the Democrat eased a week after her email probe resurfaced as she came back from being one point down in the last Washington Post-ABC News poll to being three up (47-44) in the latest released on Friday.

The poll was conducted amongst 1,768 adults between October 30 and November 2. It highlighted five key issues which saw the economy at the top of their priorities.

The remaining issues (in order of importance to the voters) were corruption in government, terrorism, healthcare and immigration.

Clinton was the preferred choice in handling terrorism, immigration and healthcare while Republican Trump was viewed as better to tackle corruption in government.

Both White House hopefuls were tied on the economy.

Where gender is concerned, Clinton has a 10-point advantage amongst women while Trump is six points ahead amongst men.

Trump is 33 points up amongst whites with no college degrees, while Clinton has an eight-point lead amongst white college graduates.

In another poll, over 80 percent of voters said the 2016 campaign has left them “repulsed rather than excited” with both candidates seen as unable to unite the country after the elections.

However, Clinton edged her rival 45-42 amongst women and non-white voters, according to the New York Times-CBS News poll.

Amongst Republican voters, an 85-percent majority believe the party is currently divided with only 39 percent believing that Trump’s candidacy has been good for the party.

An overwhelming 73 percent majority of Democrats, on the other hand, see the party as being united with 46 percent saying Clinton is a good choice for nominee. (T/R07/R01)
