Jakarta, 3 Jumadil Awwal 1436/22 February 2015 (MINA) – The President Director Halal Korea Inc, Choi Kang Sik, cooperated with the branch of Sofyan Hotels, Sofyan Hospitality International to perform business in the field of halal products.

“ Around 1.7 million Muslim travelers come to Indonesia, they need guaranteed and clearly halal food, “said the chief commissioner of Sofyan Hotels, Riyanto Sofyan to Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s reporter, Jakarta, Friday.

On the occasion, also signed an MoU between the Sofyan Hospitality International and Halal Korea Inc, presented by Ruhadi Wididargo ( the President of SHI) and Choi Kang-Sik (the president of Halal Korea) withnessed by the Deputy Director of LPPOM MUI Jakarta, Osmena Gunawan.

“Since the 2012 we have already started to develop an Islamic tourism by providing sharia hotels, restaurants and other supporting equipments,” said Sofyan.

He also said that halal food business opportunities in Indonesia is good, particularly the country become favourite Islamic tourism destination.

According to the data, the Muslim growth rate doubled from average level of world population growth. Total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Indonesia reached Rp. 9.4 trillion.

Woo Yong Taek said, every year, there are 300,000 Korean tourists visit Indonesia and 200,000  Indonesia people traveling to Korea. (L/P010/Imt/R03)
