Berlin, MINA – The Lufthansa Group announced on Monday that it will prolong its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until June 15, citing persistent security threats in the region, Anadolu Agency reported.
The decision affects several airlines within the group, including Germany’s flag carrier Lufthansa, as well as Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, ITA Airways, Brussels Airlines, and Lufthansa Cargo.
The carriers had initially planned to resume operations to Tel Aviv on June 9. However, renewed missile strikes by Yemen’s Houthi movement targeting Israeli airports prompted the extension.
The Houthis, officially known as Ansarallah, have intensified attacks on Israel-linked targets in response to the Israeli military’s ongoing offensive in Gaza.
