Jerusalem, 24 Sya’ban 1435/22 June 2014 (MINA) – Palestinian sources say Israeli occupation forces have arrested over 400 people in the past ten days amid a search campaign for three missing settlers.

The unnamed sources said most of the detainees are officials of the Hamas resistance movement or their supporters, Press TV quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

In a Saturday statement, the Israeli occupation military said 240 people with links to Hamas are among the detainees.

Israeli occupation forces also killed several Palestinians during raids in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip as they pressed ahead with operations to find the three Israeli settlers, who have been missing since June 12.

Tel Aviv accuses the resistance group of being behind the alleged abduction of the settlers. Hamas has denied any involvement, warning of a third Intifada over the ongoing crackdown.

Hamas says Tel Aviv’s allegation about the abduction of the three Israeli settlers by the Palestinian resistance movement is aimed at torpedoing the recent reconciliation deal between Hamas and Fatah.

In April, Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas signed an agreement to end years of rivalry and form a unity government. The move irked Washington and Tel Aviv. (T/E01/IR)
