Jakarta, 11 Shawwal 1438/5 July 2017 (MINA) – The 1821 movement held a campaign for parents to accompany children from the dangers of solitude due to the addiction to gadgets.

The movement urged parents to turn off their children’s devices from 6 to 9 pm everyday, so that the three-hours time is used by parents on accompanying their children in playing, studying or talking.

According to its inisiator, Ihsan Baihaqi, children who are preoccupied by various forms of the devices will have less communicating with parents or others, which can produce the generation of “easy-bored and lonely”.

“If parents are not wise, will reduce their bound with children. We do not hate gadgets, but limit the use,” Ihsan told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Wednesday (5/7).

“The campaign is not a must, but the obligation of parents to have quality time with their children is,” said the Director of Auladi Parenting School.

He also said the campaign is also an effort to change television prime time to family prime time during the hours.(L/RE1/P2)
