PCOM HOLDS ISRAEL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAILURE OF CAIRO TALKS AND COLLAPSE OF CEASEFIRE

Kuala Lumpur, 28 Shawwal 1435/24 August 2014 (MINA) – Palestinian Cultural Organization Malaysia (PCOM) Holds Israel Responsible for the Failure of Cairo Negotiations and Collapse of Ceasefire between Palestinians and Israelis.

PCOM Chairman, Muslim Abu Umar said that once again, Israel has breached the temporary ceasefire agreed upon with the Palestinian factions by the resumption of strikes on civilian houses exploiting the international and regional official silence over the genocide committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Throughout two weeks of tough indirect-negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis, Israel has shown lack of seriousness and intentionally wasted time to circumvent the Palestinian demands.

In his official press Release received by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), PCOM Chairman believes that any new indirect-negotiations with “Israel” on a permanent ceasefire should gain clear international guarantees to insure the commitment of “Israel” to any agreement signed and fortify it against any violations.

Palestinian people and their unified negotiating team cling to their legitimate demands in lifting all forms of the siege imposed on Gaza and paving the way for the reconstruction of Gaza without any delay or disruption.

The Palestinian Cultural Organization Malaysia (PCOM) is an independent non-governmental organization that aims at spreading awareness about the Palestinian Cause and concentrating the Malaysian support to the Palestinians at all public and official levels.

The organization was launched on 14th February 2012 with the presence of his Excellency Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and several Malaysian leaders and figures.

PCOM believes that the Palestinian demands are nothing but basic human rights, which requires a solid stance by the international and regional political players in pressuring the Israeli occupation to end its aggression and siege on Gaza once and forever.

PCOM highly value the brave stance adopted by the Malaysian Government towards the Palestinian cause and the great support lent to it by Malaysian organizations, Media and people, and urge to escalate the support in shadow of Israeli escalated aggression against the Palestinians.

“As we convey condolences to the bereaved Palestinian families, we stress the right of Palestinians who suffer Israeli occupation to defend themselves and resist the occupier by all means possible as guaranteed by International laws and conventions,” said Abu Umar Muslim.

It is time to end the collective punishment policy, lift the Israeli unjust siege on Gaza and grant freedom to its people.(T/R05/P3)
