Gaza City, 9 Dhul Qa’ida 1434/15 September 2013 (MINA) – Palestinians held a demonstration in the Gaza Strip to condemn the Israeli attacks on Islamic holy sites and the house demolitions in al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Tens of thousands of Palestinians took to the streets in the Gaza Strip after the Friday prayers in solidarity with Jerusalem al-Quds and its people, Palestine’s El-Resalah as quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) reported.
The attacks by settlers, backed by Israeli forces, have increased in recent months, the media added.
The Islamic Jihad movement organized the mass rally. The protesters slammed the unprecedented acts of violence being done under the watchful eye of Israeli forces in al-Quds.

The Islamic Jihad movement who refuses to recognize the Israeli entity called on acting Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas to stop what it describes as futile negotiations with the enemy.
Protesters chanted slogans against the Judaization of Jerusalem al-Quds and the desecration of Islamic places of worship by extremist settlers.
They also called on all Muslims to lend a helping hand to the Palestinians. The city has a very special place in the minds and hearts of Muslims all over the world due to its religious importance in the Muslim faith.
Israeli forces occupied Jerusalem Al-Quds in June of 1967 and currently control over eighty percent of its land. Only close to three hundred thousand Palestinians currently live in the holy city due to illegal confiscation of their lands and their displacement by Te-Aviv in the past four decades.

Protestors vowed to sacrifice their lives for the sake of liberating the city which Palestinians consider as the capital of their future independent state.
After 46 years of Israeli occupation of Jerusalem al-Quds, the city remains the core issue in the Palestinian struggle for liberation and independence. (T/P02/P03)
