Palestinians Bury “Martyrs” amid Broad fury, Mourning

With protesters throwing stones aand burning tires, the occupation forces striked back with tear gas and live ammunition.

Gaza, MINA – Palestinians on Saturday buried 15 “martyrs” killed by Israel’s forces as thousands marched near Gaza’s border with Israel to mark the 42nd anniversary of Land Day Friday.

More than 1,400 were injured by the Israelis during the “Great march of return.” Funerals were held amid a general state of mourning in the Strip, in line with a decision by President Mahmoud Abbas.

Palestinians national and Islamic factions and powers called for a General strike.

Member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) Saleh Nasser said the massive participation in the “Great march of return” obviously reiterated that the Palestinian people are still holding strongly to their legitimate rights at the face of all “conspiracies, topped with Deal of the Century.”

He added that the march had manifested the unity among components of the Palestinian people.

Nasser called for providing international protection for the Palestinians.

He urged speeding up efforts for achieving the Palestinian “political unity”, as well as adopting a struggle program for consolidating the popular uprising and internationalization of the Palestinian cause.

Saturday dawn, Israel’s artillery shelled agricultural areas in Gaza, but no casualties were reported, as hundreds of Palestinians continued protests on along Gaza borders with Israel amid Israeli sporadic gunfire.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 15 Palestinians were “martyred” in Friday clashes and 416 others wounded. (T/RS5/RS1)
