Ramallah, MINA – Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Friday welcomed condemnation by majority of UN Security Council (UNSC) member states to the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
This condemnation sends a strong message of support of the right of the Palestinian people and their just cause, East Jerusalem as their capital, Abbas said in a statement, cited by the official WAFA news agency.
He said he would continue endeavors to confront the US decision.
“We reaffirm rejection to the American position vis-a-vis city of Al-Quds,” said Abbas.
