New Islamic-US Partnership to Confront Terrorism – Al-Jubeir

Tunis, 12 Sha’ban 1438/9 May 2017 (MINA) – Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmad Al-Jubeir said Monday that the upcoming Arab Islamic-American summit, scheduled to take place in Riyadh on May 21, aims at confronting the dangers of radicalism and terrorism through building new partnership between the Arab and Islamic world and United States.
Al-Jubeir made the remarks after meeting with Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, and after delivering a letter on behalf of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz inviting him to the summit, KUNA reported.
Al-Jubeir said his visit to Tunisia reflects on the kingdom’s keenness for Tunisia to attend such historic summit, stressing that the Tunisian leadership were first to receive such invitation among the 17 Arab leaders.
The foreign minister noted that the summit also aims at boosting security, stability, and cooperation how to best serve the people and future of the region.
For his part, the Tunisian leader expressed his appreciation for the Saudi king for the invitation and praised such initiative that would establish a great new partnership between the Arab and Islamic worlds and the United States. (T/RS5/RS1)
