Muslims Must Give a Good Account of Islam to Eradicate Islamophobia – Ahmad Zahid

Kuala Lumpur, 05 Ramadan 1437/10 June 2016 (MINA) – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today reminded Muslims to give a good picture of Islam to non-Muslims to eradicate Islamophobia.

“Islam means peace. Islam has no enemy. Islamophobia is caused by one or two who are involved in criminal activities,” Ahmad Zahid was quoted by Bernama as saying after breaking fast and handing contributions at Madrasathul Faridiyah, Setapak, here, Thursday.

He also urged Muslims nationwide to look after the religious harmony at all levels of society by giving a good picture (of Islam).

“An impression of Islam is of good personality and character. If the impression is not good, the outcome will be no good,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid also announced a RM2 million allocation for the construction of the Maahad Tahfiz Faridiyah Quran Recital school here.

He said the allocation was approved to build a four storey complex to house 140 Tahfiz students from Madrasathul Faridiyah.

“When the Maahad Tahfiz Faridiyah is operational, I want the students to excel not only in Quran Recital but also academics,” he said.

In the same event, Ahmad Zahid, who also performed the Tarawih prayers handed out contributions in the form of basic necessities worth RM250 to 1,000 selected Zakat recipients from the Federal Territory especially the Setiawangsa and Wangsa Maju Parliamentary constituencies.
