Kampoeng Minang Festival 2017 in Jakarta Promotes Halal Tourism

Jakarta, 29 Rajab 1438/26 April 2017 (MINA) – The Minangkabau Community (AAM) of ​​Jabodetabek region will hold the Kampoeng Minangkabau Festival to promote halal tourism of West Sumatra, with festival taking place at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, from April 28 to May 1 Upcoming.

Chairman of the event organizers, Andika said the concept designed for the Kampoeng Minangkabau Festival this time is to present the warmth of Minangkabau atmosphere in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Jakarta.

“The three most important things in this festival are promoting Halal Halal tourism which has won prizes in the World Halal Tourism for the categories of Halal Destination, Halal Culinary and  Halal Travel,” Andika told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) Tuesday (25/4).

Andika added, also not less important the festival presents hundreds of booths that will showcase creative products from small and medium enterprises with owners coming directly from West Sumatra.

“The booths also display culinary, handicraft or fashion and other creative products,” added Andika.

Formed on June 18, 2016, the AAM was initiated by some Minang migrants who live in Jabodetabek. Although the presence of the community has not been so long, it has successfully held some useful activities.

“Insyaallah or God willing after this event, we plan to realize the Minang culinary tourism area in this capital region, the area will have a hangout for young people, meeting places, Minang hawker center, fashion, and much more,” Andika concluded.

This time Kampoeng Minangkabau Festival will feature the Governor of West Sumatra, Irwan Prayitno as resource person, meeting and greet with great players of Surau and Silek, and followed by entertainment events with Minang tradition, randai, singer from Minang and others.   (L/R07/P1/RS5)
