Jokowi Wants Halal Certification for MSMEs Without Charge

Bekasi, MINA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo wants the halal certification process for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to be accelerated and not subject to any fees or free.

Therefore, he continued, after the draft Government Regulation (RPP) concerning Halal Product Guarantee (JPH) was issued, small-scale entrepreneurs like these were not charged anything, immediately checked, gave halal certification.

Regarding the RPP publishing target, the President said it was still in the process of being discussed because it involved a lot of micro and small businesses. “Do not arrive later after escaping it turns out there are still problems in the field. We need details here, we need details, “he said.

When asked about the time needed to complete halal certification permits, the President delivered a day because it was not right at this time permits that took a long time.

The JPH RPP to be issued by the government in October. Meanwhile, its administrative authority will be carried out by BPJPH by not reducing the authority of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) which has been the organizer of halal certification.

The MUI with LPPOM still has three main authorities. First, in relation to the fatwa of halalism, from the religious point of view it remains the authority of the MUI.
