Indonesian Foreign Minister to Visit China
Beijing, MINA – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will visit China from Feb. 8 to 10 at the invitation of her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Xinhua reported, citing the announcement issued by the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang here Monday.
During her visit, Retno will meet with Chinese leaders, hold talks with Wang Yi, and co-host the third meeting of the joint committee for bilateral cooperation established between the two governments, Geng said at a daily press briefing.
The two sides will exchange opinions on bilateral ties and international and regional issues of common concern, according to Geng.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership and the 15th anniversary of the China-ASEAN strategic partnership. ASEAN stands for the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations.
“The relationship between China and Indonesia maintains is improving and faces new opportunities for development,” Geng said, expressing hope that the visit will further enhance mutual trust and cooperation, and advance relations between the two countries and the China-ASEAN ties. (T/RS5/RS1)
