In 2019, Indonesia to Build Halal Center

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesia Ministry of Religion will build the construction of a halal center and the Hajj and Umrah services in 2019 using the budget of State Sharia Securities (SBSN).

“This year (2019), we will use the SBSN to build two service centers. First, the Integrated Hajj and Umrah Service Center (PLHUT), and second, the Halal Service Center, “said Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim Saifuddin when closing the National Coordination Meeting of Activity Managers with SBSN Financing in Jakarta, Friday, Feb 1st.

Ministry of Religion as the state institution that gets the fourth largest budget allocation in 2019 get as much as IDR 62 trillion.

Some of these budgets will be allocated for the development of the Integrated Umrah Hajj Service Center with IDR 36,472,313,000.00 and the Halal Service Center and Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) with the total IDR 145,861,719,484. Minister of Religion hopes that BPJPH will start operating in October 2019.

“Because BPJPH is targeted for October, it must start running. Starting on October 17, you have to start serving all activities, related to halal cosmetics, medicines, and so on, ” the Minister of Religion continued.

Previously, the Ministry of Religion have built facilities using SBSN for three types of services.

“Since 2014, the Ministry of Religion have used SBSN to develop three things. Namely, the madrasa, PTKIN buildings, as well as the Marriage Hall and Hajj Manasik. “The three are still continuing this year,” the Minister of Religion explained.

Regarding this, he advised his staff to properly oversee the development process of the SBSN’s budget, so that it could be right on target, be effective, and have an impact on improving the services.
