TUNISIA WORKING HARD TO ACHIEVE NATIONAL GOALS
Tunis, 27 Ramadhan 1434/4 Agustus 2013 (MINA) – The interim Tunisian Prime Minister Ali Larayedh said on Saturday after a meeting with President of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) Wided Bouchamaoui the government is working hard in action to achieving national objectives.
“The Government is working hard to accelerate and improve its action towards achieving the national objectives, particularly in the economic and social sectors,” said Layaredh.
The meeting focused on the general situation in the country, particularly the political, security and economic areas, the Prime Ministry said in a statement released on Saturday.
Mrs. Bouchamaoui conveyed to the Prime Minister the concerns of the UTICA about the recent events, particularly the assassination of opposition politician Mohamed Brahmi, the terrorist attack in Mount Chaambi and the climate of insecurity that prevailed thereafter which “does not help economic development,” according to the statement.
The President of UTICA presented the viewpoint of the employers’ organisation and its proposal to overcome the crisis.
UTICA is in favour of boosting the role of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA), the formation of a technocratic government, dialogue and rejection of violence.
The prime minister stressed, for his part, that the UTICA has an important national role to play in this difficult environment marked by various challenges. Tap.info media reported as monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).
“To meet these challenges, we must join efforts, find common ground through dialogue and identify solutions to ensure the success of the democratic process,” he added.
According to the same statement, Larayedh said he was “confident” the employers’ organisation “will play an active role in reconciling positions to ensure the success of political dialogue through attachment to the legitimacy of the NCA and speeding up its works to finish off drafting the constitution in a time not exceeding the end of August 2013.”(T/P014/P04)
