Jenin, 13 Dzulhijjah 1436/27 September 2015 (MINA) – Palestinian ex-detainees said that Israeli Occupation Authority (IOA) treats captives as an investment project.

Ex-prisoner Samer al-Saadi who has been released two days ago after serving a sentence of 8 years in jail said, in a press statement, that the IOA has been treating Palestinian detainees as a source of income.

Israel makes detainees pay for appliances they need in Israeli jails, he elaborated, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting, Sunday (27/9).

“The prison management deals with Palestinian patient captives with no mercy giving them only painkillers,” Saadi said.

Two other ex-detainees who are Hamas leaders as well and spent 14 months under administrative detention said that the IOA isolates so many captives of administrative detainees and hunger strikers in solitary confinement cells at Negev jail which do not fit for human beings.

The ex-detainees called on the Palestinian people to support prisoners in light of the Israeli escalation of offensive practices against them and to work on saving the lives of the sick captives.(T/P008/R03)
