EGYPT ANNOUNCES ZIONIST ISRAEL-PALESTINE PERMANENT CEASEFIRE
Gaza, 1 Dzulqa’idah 1435/27 August 2014 (MINA) – The Egyptian government announced permanent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Palestine that began on Tuesday 07:00 pm Gaza Time, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) Correspondent reported.
All Gazans celebrated the victory by taking to the streets.
The agreement also announced by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas who appreciated the efforts of Egypt and all those who played a role in restoring peace to the Gaza Strip.
“We expressed high appreciation for the efforts of Egypt and all parties who have worked hard to reach the peace deal. Qatar also played a role in the deal. We also said that the Secretary of State John Kerry also contacted us for the same purpose, so we are grateful to all those who played a role in facilitating the ceasefire deal,” said Abbas.
Saudi Arabia has also provided a guarantee on the part of the Palestinians.
Permanent ceasefire agreement based on the 2012 agreement, covering the end of all the persecution and murder of Palestinian leaders and activists by Zionist Israeli occupation regime.
The deal also includes the agreement to open all crossings, including the movement of goods, building materials, fuel, and other basic needs. In addition, the fishing zone will be extended to 12 nautical miles.
The two sides will meet again in the next coming months to discuss unresolved issues.
Palestinian president will also discuss the latest ceasefire agreement at a meeting of the Palestinian leadership.
Israeli television Channel 10 quoting Israeli occupation regime officials said they agreed to a cease-fire and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been telling all his cabinet members about the deal.
Palestinian Victory
Ismail Haniyeh, a senior political leader of Hamas, said that a permanent ceasefire agreement is a gift to the all Gazans and the resilience of Palestinians fighters.
In a press conference in Assyifa Hospital in Gaza City, Tuesday evening, the other Hamas official, Sami Abu Zuhri said, “Israeli settlers living near the Gaza border can return to their homes after the ceasefire agreement.”
“Hamas movement will not abandon the Palestinian people after the fighting is over,” said abu Zuhri as quoted by Palestine News Network.
Khalid al-Batsh, a senior official of Jihad Islam said that the agreement has fulfilled Palestinian demands. (L/K01/R05/R03/P3)
