AL-QASSAM DENIES ISRAELI CLAIM ABOUT LOST SOLDIER

Gaza, 6 Shawwal 1435/2 August 2014 (MINA) – Israeli occupation regime claimed a soldier lost in east of Rafah on Friday morning. They accused Al-Qassam fighters kidnapping the soldier.

But Izzuddin al-Qassam Brigades officially denied the accustion. They assessed the soldier killed by Israel itself.

Izzuddin al-Qassam Brigades issued a following official statement,Saturday, 2 August 2014:

Israeli occupation regime had violated temporary ceasefire, Friday, 1 August 2014 by attacking east of Rafah. The Israeli occupation regime attack caused dozen of people died. Izzuddin al-Qassam Brigades carried out internal review and confirmed the following :

1.   Israeli occupation regime soldiers used humanitarian ceasefire deal to enter Gaza. They entered two kilometers from border in east of Rafah and clashes was inevitable there. It began at around 07.00 am local time before humanitarian ceasefire. Israeli occupation regime soldiers launched their attack with reason searching for missing soldier after 10:00 am local time. It had clearly violated the ceasefire.

2.    We lost contact with our fighters taking part in the defence. We assessed the soldiers killed by Israel itself including the lost soldier.

3.    Izzuddin al-Qassam Brigades confirmed they did not know either location or circumstances of the missing Israeli occupation regime soldier.

4.     We informed  the mediators participating in humanitarian ceasefire agreement that we agreed to a ceasefire in Israeli colonies and settlements. However we could not carry out ceasefire against Israeli soldiers who tried to enter Gaza Strip. (L/K01 /P03/Syt/E01)
