AACC ESTABLISHES ASIA-AFRICA CENTRE
Jakarta, 3 Rajab 1436/22 April 2015 (MINA) – The Participants of the 60th Asian-African Conference Commemoration (AACC) has agreed on the establishment of Asian-African Centre (AAC). ACC’s goals is developing New Strategy Partnership Asia and Africa can be realized concretely.
“The AAC meeting plan are going to be held every two years between the countries of Africa and Asia,” said a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Armanantha Natsir at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Tuesday (21/4).
According to Natsir, through the commemoration of 60 Years AACC in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia would continue the spirit od Dasasila Bandung to be implemented in developing economic partnership among the countries. “The synergy between the countries of Asia and Africa will continue to be improved in order to achieve significant progress in the economic, political, and social,” he said.
He said that, until now the cooperation in Asia and Africa is not yet optimal, especially in the trade sector. “As the host of this conference, Indonesia wants to push for equal employment opportunities,” he explained.
Natsir added, Bandung spirit which has been declared in 1955 is still relevant to current conditions. He asserted, Asia-Africa need to strengthen the security cooperation of Asia and Africa.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno L.P Marsudi asserted that the main chalenges of Asia-Africa countries is modern colonialism and imperialism. So, the countries have to unite to fight against them.
Palestine’s issue is our main agenda which is being discussed in the meeting. The nation until now still under the Israeli occupation. Asian-African countries should unite to support Palestine to gain their independence,” said Retno in the opening session of Ministerial Meeting, Asian African Conference Commemoration, Jakarta, Monday.
The minister stated that Indonesia consistently support the two state solution in Palestinian issue. “ It will become the message of the meeting for the issue,” she said. (L/P008/R03)
