Indonesia Condemns Bombing in Sri Lanka

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesia strongly condemned the bombings in some locations in Sri Lanka on Sunday at around 09:00 local time which killed more than 200 people.

Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its written statement said that the Government and people of Indonesia conveyed deep condolences to the victims and their families.

Indonesian Embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka continues to monitor the progress of situation and coordinates with local security authorities, hospitals and the Association of Indonesian Citizens (WNI).

Indonesian Embassy in Colombo informed that until now there was no information about Indonesian citizens who were become victim of the incident.

Data from Indonesian Embassy in Colombo said around 374 Indonesian citizens are living in Sri Lanka, including around 140 people in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka.

Indonesian government believes that Sri Lankan Government can handle the situation well, and willing to provide the necessary assistance.

Government calls on Indonesian citizens in Sri Lanka to remain vigilant and cautious and to follow directions from local security authorities.
