150 Permanent Housing Built In Sigi

Sigi, MINA – Social Association (Persos) Surabaya, East Java Province, initiated the construction of the initial 150 permanent housing units for remote indigenous communities of the Kaili Da’a tribe who live on the hillside of Bangga Village, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi.

The construction of the permanent housing was marked by the laying of the first stone by the Governor of Central Sulawesi, Longki Djanggola, accompanied by the Regent and Deputy Regent of Sigi and Chairman of Persos Surabaya Merry Tanhart, in Padena III Hamlet, Bangga Village, South Dolo District, Friday (11/09/2018) .

The recipients of permanent housing will later receive the house key along with ownership of the land certificate, the construction of which is planned to be completed in December 2018. “Hopefully the hopes of the community to have shelter can still be fulfilled,” said Merry Tanhart

“Hopefully, the community to have occupancy can still be fulfilled immediately,” said Merry Tanhart.

Mery explained that the program is formed after a number of entrepreneurs in Palu City doing presentation on the condition of Central Sulawesi after the earthquake, tsunami and liquefaction disasters.

“This makes the hearts of entrepreneurs in Surabaya, moved to help people who are homeless,” said Mery.

Sigi Regent Mohammad Irwan thanked the Surabaya community for their concern.

They concern for Palu, Sigi and Donggala which have helped to ease the burden on the district government, in terms of making shelter for refugees who lost their homes due to the disaster.

The regent hopes that after the construction of the housing remains completed, other facilities can also be built, such as the construction of places of worship and educational facilities for the local community. (T/Sj)/RS5)
