Jakarta, MINA – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, arrived in Osaka, Japan, on Saturday to visit the Indonesian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
The Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta reported that the visit highlights Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening its active role in global forums and promoting innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation.
Upon his arrival at Kansai International Airport at approximately 8:30 a.m. local time, President Prabowo was welcomed by the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Maria Renata Hutagalung, the Indonesian Consul General for Osaka, John Tjahjanto Boestami, and the Indonesian Defense Attaché in Tokyo, First Admiral Hidayaturrahman. Also present to welcome the President were Keiichi Ichikawa, Former Assistant to the Japanese Cabinet Secretary, and Yasushi Misawa, Ambassador in Charge of the Kansai Region.
Expo 2025 Osaka carries the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” which emphasizes global collaboration in facing shared challenges, including climate change, technological transformation, and sustainable development. Indonesia is participating as one of the 158 countries at the expo.
During his visit, President Prabowo is scheduled to tour the Indonesian Pavilion, which has a major theme inspired by the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, emphasizing harmony between humanity, nature, and God. This principle serves as the foundation for the pavilion’s narrative and vision for building a sustainable and inclusive future.
“President Prabowo’s presence at Expo 2025 Osaka is a tangible form of Indonesian diplomacy on the global stage, as well as a step to affirm Indonesia’s position as an important power in the region and the world,” the statement read. []
